 you're saying. First you are absolutely right that we shouldn't do everything the Dems want. Or everything the Republicans want (right?). But when a suffers our arduous process to become a law, one party shouldn't be allowed to usurp our democratic process without serious political or legal ramifications. This isn't really about Obamacare, (not even repubs agree that it's about Obamacare) it's about a small group of people trying to undermine our representative democracy. It's a dangerous precedent to allow. Democrats don't have a majority in the House, if the Dems did there wouldn't be a shut down. While more people in voted for Democratic house members than Republicans, the republican controlled state legislatures across the nation managed to Gerrymander their way to a House majority that undermines our democratic process. I don't believe the president is free to make executive orders that override the of congress whenever he sees fit, or whenever Congress fails to do their job. I don't know though, but I think the reach and limitations of his executive authority are outlined in the constitution, although I admit they often seem like lines drawn in sand.
